Recent attention has been devoted to developing methods for site based assessments of vegetation condition. However, to provide regional context there is a need to extrapolate from site-based assesments to mapped estimates of condition.

This collaborative project between CSIRO, RMIT University, NSW Department of Environment & Conservation, and the Australian Government Department of Environment & Heritage is developing methods for mapping vegetation condition by integrating site-based assessments, remote sensing and spatially explicit predictive modelling.

This Web site describes the project, provides project resources, documents methods and provides information as the project evolves. The project will commence with a national vegetation condition mapping workshop.
